The Hallerschipper describe themselves as "the somewhat different shanty choir". Traditional sea shanties by Freddy and Hans Albers are of course also part of the repertoire, but Captain Michael Vieth has also developed his own style of presentation for these evergreens. The choir sets special accents with maritime hits. Popular songs by "SANTIANO" are an integral part of the programme. The Hallerschipper also present hits by Achim Reichel, the Flippers and other artists in their own style, which is strongly characterised by eight musicians who add special effects to the vocal performances with their instruments. Andreas Gabalier was so taken with the programme that he allowed his hit "I sing a Liad für di" to be rewritten for his own purposes. The piece has become a kind of anthem for the choir under a new title. The increasing number of listeners and the expanding sphere of activity of the Hallerschipper prove that the choirmaster has taken the right course and is appealing to more and more young people with a modern programme.
