Störte-Bäcker - the shanty choir of the Hanover Bakers' Guild
The StörteBäcker are the singing "Smutjes" among the German shanty choirs.
It was founded in 1982 when many Hanoverian master bakers from the men's choir of the Hanover Bakers' Guild of 1878 chose Mardorf on the edge of the Steinhuder Meer as their retreat to pursue their passions of singing and sailing after baking.
Today, the current Bäckersänger still indulge in their hobby with great joy and commitment. We are particularly happy to take lovers of fresh baked goods and all friends of German baking culture on our musical voyages.
