For over a quarter of a century, Hanover has been home to an active, diverse and multifaceted scene of young writers who not only raise their voices through their literary work, but also know how to creatively bring literature to life in a wide range of venues, from clubs and pubs to large theatres and public cultural spaces. The poetry slam „Macht Worte!“, which emerged from this scene, has been the largest and most successful poetry battle in the state capital and the Hanover region since 2004. It takes place at the Faust Cultural Centre, in the Herrenhausen Gardens and regularly at the State Opera. Presenters Henning Chadde and Jan Egge Sedelies are now hosting a poetry slam at the Maschseefest for the third time, featuring some fantastic guests. Luksan Wunder are a comedy and satire collective. With their very own brand of humour, they have created a universe of elaborately produced nonsense, parodies with a keen eye for detail, crude wordplay and ironic, satirical punchlines. Their live shows are a wild ride of music, videos, satire, sketches, cabaret and stand-up comedy, masterfully bringing the internet age to the stage. Their video series „Korrekte Aussprache“, „Literal Videos“, „Bad Lip Reading videos“, tutorials and life hacks, as well as the „Most Unsatisfying Video Ever Made“, are viral hits, and the crew’s videos have racked up over half a billion views worldwide.
