Just for Fun was originally intended as a preliminary choir for the main choir of the Shanty-Chor-Lohnde von 1989 e.V., but things turned out differently.
Instead of finding "new blood" for the shanty choir, this choir formation got completely out of hand and the song-loving women developed a momentum of their own that could no longer be stopped. The ladies sang for the fun of it, and that's what they call themselves: "Just for Fun". This year, the women celebrated their 15th anniversary and have become an integral part of the Seelz music scene.
Firmly established in the Shanty-Chor-Lohnde, the almost 30 women celebrate considerable success with maritime songs, but also hits and evergreens. Under the direction of Gisela Kahrau-Rogge and with musical accompaniment from the main choir, the group performs around 20 to 25 times a year.
