The big NKR duck race will take place on 1 August 2026 from 4 pm to 6 pm on the northern shore of Lake Maschsee.

There is a race of the Big Ducks of 100 sponsors, i.e. companies and organisations from Hanover and the surrounding area, who compete for the places for both the "Most Beautiful Duck" and the "Fastest Duck" on the Maschsee on the north bank.

The north bank of the Maschsee will once again be the venue for a very special charity event for people suffering from leukaemia / blood cancer.

Then comes the race of the 5,000 Race Ducks, a race for anyone and everyone who wants to take part. The 5,000 Race Ducks can be "adopted" by their godparents, i.e. you can buy one of the 5,000 numbered "adoption certificates" online (see below) or at one of the sales outlets in Hanover and the surrounding Hanover region and have a great chance of winning one of the 100 prizes.

Anyone can send a duckling into the race!

With just 5 euros, every sponsor can be one of the 5,000 "Race-Ducks" and at the same time support the fight against blood cancer with a donation. The proceeds from the sale will be used to register potential new donors. In addition, every sponsor has the chance to win something. There are great prizes for the first 100 numbered ducklings at the finish line, including

• 1st place: A flight for two people from TUI Deutschland
• 2nd place: 1,000 euros from Toto Lotto Lower Saxony
• 3rd place: 500 euros from Hannoversche Volksbank
