For over a quarter of a century, Hanover has had an active, polyphonic and diverse young author scene that not only raises its voice with literary commitment, but also knows how to creatively use new literary venues from clubs and pubs to large theatres and public cultural spaces. The poetry slam "Macht Worte!", which emerged from this context, has been the largest and most successful poetry slam in the state capital and the Hanover region since 2004. It is performed in the Faust cultural centre, in the Herrenhausen Gardens and regularly in the State Opera House. The presenters Henning Chadde and Jan Egge Sedelies are now presenting a poetry slam at the Maschseefest for the second time with great guests.
