The north bank becomes a rainbow mile at QueerWednesday! Hosted by Disko Jutta and Carrie Gold

This year, QueerWednesday for the LGBTIQ* community will take place for the fourth time on the stage on the north bank of the Maschseefest in Hanover. The north bank will become a queer mile from 6 pm to 10 pm: 3,000 pride flags will be distributed and there will be a varied programme for everyone. The commissioners for sexual and gender diversity of the state capital Hanover have developed the idea and concept for QueerWednesday together with Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH.

On 7 August 2024, the north bank will become a rainbow mile at QueerWednesday with DJs, comedy queen Rachel Intervention & singer/songwriter John Riot. The colourful party will be hosted by the popular drag queens Disko Jutta and Carrie Gold

John Riot

The name says it all. The word "riot" means uprising and that is exactly what John Riot stands for with his music. The singer/songwriter wants to set an example for the queer community and call for more acceptance and tolerance. His unmistakable sound combines melancholic lyrics, a raspy voice and pure pop club beats with a hint of the 80s.

The Berliner-by-choice gained fame through his participation in the 6th season of The Voice of Germany. For 2024, he entered the Eurovision Song Contest with his song "Intoxicated", which is about his struggle with stereotypical role models and his traumas. In February 2024, his debut concert at Badehaus Berlin was completely sold out, and his live performances are always full of energy. John Riot's music is strongly characterised by his personal, sometimes painful and traumatic experiences. The themes of his songs contain a far-reaching depth that contrasts with the danceable and club-ready beats. This ambivalence is intended to convey to listeners that you can cry and dance in the club at the same time. John wants to encourage people to emerge stronger from every trauma and to draw something positive from the negative.

Rachel Intervention

Rachel Intervention is a comedy queen from Berlin and has made it her mission to make every audience laugh with funny spoken word lipsync performances and stand-up comedy.

In addition to her regular one-woman show "Die Eiersalat Show", she also produces major drag variety shows ("Intervention Berlin") at the well-known BKA theatre in Berlin. With her comedy skills, numerous shows and guest performances, she is already an established name on the German drag scene.

Disco Jutta

As the "mum" from the Schwules Sau in Hanover, Disko Jutta is now also known beyond the borders of the Sau. Whether as a presenter, singer, talk guest or DJ - Jutta is approachable, human and always a guarantee for great entertainment with a certain wink and a large portion of self-irony! True to her motto: I am beautiful, and so are you!

Carrie Gold

Miss Carrie Gold shimmers and shines on the dancefloor. She is at home at many national and international parties, whether in her home town of Hanover or in Hamburg, Zurich, Vienna or Copenhagen - she radiates her unforgettable charm everywhere. Be there and let her enchant you - talking is silver, but dancing is GOLD!
