On 6 August 2025, QueerWednesday will take place for the fifth time as part of the Maschseefest in Hanover - a highlight for the LGBTIQ community* and everyone who wants to celebrate diversity, music and joie de vivre.

From 6 to 10 p.m., the north bank is transformed into a colourful stage of visibility: 3,000 Pride flags are distributed, DJs create an exuberant atmosphere - and the programme offers numerous highlights.

As a musical highlight, Bahar, former singer of the successful band Monrose, wows the audience with an energetic live performance. The German-Turkish artist is a multi-faceted all-round performer with unmistakable charisma. Since her breakthrough in 2006 with Popstars she is one of the greats of the German pop scene. With over 1.5 million records sold, several number 1 hits and numerous awards, she brings a concentrated stage presence to Hanover.

In addition, the audience can expect a rousing drag queen show that brings queer art and expressiveness to the stage - colourful, courageous and full of energy.

The evening will be hosted by two queer power hosts in a class of their own:
Disko Jutta, as "Mummy" from the Gay sow has long been a cult figure in Hanover and is known far beyond the borders of the scene. Whether as a presenter, singer, talk show guest or DJ - she stands for great entertainment with heart, humour and a large portion of self-irony. True to her motto: "I am beautiful - and so are you!"

At her side shines Miss Carrie Gold, who is just as much at home on international dancefloors as she is on Hanover's stages. Whether in Hamburg, Zurich, Vienna or Copenhagen - Carrie radiates her irresistible charm and attracts everyone's attention with her glitz and glamour. Talk is silver, but dancing is GOLD!

The QueerWednesday initiative was launched by the commissioners for sexual and gender diversity of the state capital Hannover in cooperation with Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH - a strong sign of cohesion, visibility and lived diversity at the Maschsee.
