The KKS Big Band has been one of the best youth jazz orchestras in Lower Saxony for years and is the figurehead of the Käthe Kollwitz School in Hanover. Last year it won the orchestra competition and is now officially the "Best Big Band in Lower Saxony". The original big band line-up plays the entire spectrum of jazz literature for this ensemble, from the great classics of the genre to contemporary pieces. The ensemble is led by music teacher Michael Thiemann.
